Stevie is on the verge of experiencing one of life’s greatest gifts, motherhood. Living in Chicago throughout her twenties, she was able to make her jewelry design business a full time reality. It was at that time she met her future husband and together, they traded in the city nights and lights for a simpler life. Now living back in her home state of Michigan, Stevie is learning to live life on her own terms and proving each day that home is really where the heart is.

What do you wake up thinking about?

I try to wake up every morning and think about the things that I am grateful for. It helps me start my day the right way and more mindfully.  I then think about how much the animals take up all of the bed space. :)

What's your morning ritual?

My husband and I wake up and let our dog and cat outside.  We open up the chicken coop say good morning and let the ladies out for the day.  We make breakfast, usually some eggs and something from our garden and french press coffee.  We sip coffee while going over our to do list for the day.

How does social media play into your daily life?

It's a large part of my daily life.  Our businesses are all online, social media helps promote them. Without social media and the internet my husband and I wouldn't have been able to create the life we have now. One where we can work from home and have a flexible schedule.  It also enables me stay connected to friends and family that don't live close by.  I don't know what I would do without the silly photos on Facebook of my nieces and nephews in North Carolina.

Are we more connected or disconnected than before?

That depends on who you ask.  Personally I think we are more connected but it's all in how you use social media. I've made some really special relationships from all around the world through Instagram.  The way you can build a like minded community through Instagram is so inspiring to me.  That being said, it's super important for me to disconnect every day and get out in nature.  This helps me balance everything.

What is most important to you in life?

Hands down my family.  I don't know what I would do without them and feel so fortunate to have such an awesome one.  This includes the furry and feathered ones.
