Justina once dumped her boyfriend for music. Born in Lithuania, music has always been a part of her life. Justina recalls her earliest memories of falling asleep to deep forest sounds on repeat.  In 1995, her family moved from Lithuania and relocated to Chicago.  Moving to Chicago allowed Justina to grow creatively. The city quickly became the genesis of her hauntingly beautiful musical world, better known as FEE LION. Justina’s experience in theater and dance all play into her sound as well as the visuals she creates. It's a universe unlike any other that she intimately invites you to enter. At the end of the day, food and a good list of goals is all Justina needs to keep her motivated.

What do you wake up thinking about?

Dreams. Lately I've been having very weird sleep in foreign basements on strange couches; deflating mattresses. Last Thursday I was having this intense dream about a threesome gone violently wrong and woke myself up crying and grumbling “no”.

What's your morning ritual?

I don't really have one. I've been on the road for a second and just recently moved into a very new environment- maybe now is the time to discover a routine. I do brush my teeth though.

How does social media play into your daily life?

Social media is so crazy. I remember when I first encountered a girl that was addicted to her iPhone. I told myself I never wanted to be that. But now I look around and everyone is that girl! Including me. A big part of the “business” side of FEE LION is updating the facebook page, keeping the instagram current, tweeting, etc… and it is so easy to get sucked into the obsessive cycle of constantly catering to those outlets. I try to keep it healthy. Moderation is key.

Are we more connected or disconnected than before?

As much as I want to say we have become more disconnected, I am instantly reminded of the countless times social media has been the initiator of really amazing and important real life connections for me. The lure of social media aside, I think there's so much value in staying present and living in the moment. Forgetting to do that is the ultimate form of disconnecting.

What is most important to you in life?

Staying true to myself so that I can be true to others.
